| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
2 | Statutes, further providing for vehicles exempt from |
3 | registration and for limits on number of towed vehicles. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 1302 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania |
7 | Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read: |
8 | § 1302. Vehicles exempt from registration. |
9 | The following types of vehicles are exempt from registration: |

11 | (22) Any portable traffic control signal or device upon |
12 | a trailer not exceeding 3,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. |
13 | Section 2. Section 4904 of Title 75 is amended by adding a |
14 | subsection to read: |
15 | § 4904. Limits on number of towed vehicles. |

1 | (i) Portable traffic control signal or devices.--A portable | <-- |
2 | traffic control signal mounted upon a trailer not exceeding |
3 | 3,000 pounds gross vehicle weight may be operated in tandem as |
4 | long as the length of the two trailers each trailer does not | <-- |
5 | exceed 300 inches. |
6 | (i) Portable traffic control signals or devices.--Portable | <-- |
7 | traffic control signals mounted upon a trailer not exceeding |
8 | 3,000 pounds gross vehicle weight may be operated in tandem as |
9 | long as the length of the two trailers combined does not exceed |
10 | 300 inches and the trailers are designed by the manufacturer to |
11 | be able to be towed in tandem on public roadways. |
12 | Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
