| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania |
2 | Consolidated Statutes, imposing sanctions and penalties on |
3 | employers who engage in the unlawful employment of aliens. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
7 | Statutes is amended by adding a section to read: |
8 | § 7332. Unlawful employment of aliens. |
9 | (a) Prohibition.--An employer who is found by a court or |
10 | administrative agency to have violated section 274A of the |
11 | Immigration and Nationality Act (66 Stat. 163, 8 U.S.C. § 1324a) |
12 | shall be subject to the suspension or revocation of its business |
13 | or professional license by the applicable licensing authority in |
14 | addition to a fine as provided for in subsection (b). |
15 | (b) Penalty.--Any employer who violates subsection (a) shall |
16 | be sentenced or ordered to pay a civil fine in the amount of |
17 | $5,000. |
18 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
