| AN ACT |

1 | Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the |
2 | Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for |
3 | exemptions from jury duty. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 4503(a) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania |
7 | Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read: |
8 | § 4503. Exemptions from jury duty. |
9 | (a) General rule.--No person shall be exempt or excused from |
10 | jury duty except the following: |
11 | * * * |
12 | (5) Persons who have previously served for a full term | <-- |
13 | term of 18 months on a Statewide investigating grand jury, | <-- |
14 | including any extensions thereof, who opt not to serve. |

16 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
