AN ACT

Providing for presentation checks delivered by government

officials of the Commonwealth.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Short title.

This act shall be known and may be cited as the Presentation

Check Act.

Section 2.  Definitions.

The following words and phrases when used in this act shall

have the meanings given to them in this section unless the

context clearly indicates otherwise:

"Commonwealth official."  A member or employee of the

legislative or the executive branch of the Commonwealth

government.

"Presentation check."  Oversized checks having no monetary

value but represent a loan, grant or other moneys provided by

the Commonwealth which are delivered by Commonwealth officials

to a person, business entity or institution in a ceremonial

function.

Section 3.  Condition.

All presentation checks issued by a Commonwealth official

shall have in the signature portion of the check the phrase:

Pennsylvania taxpayers.

Section 10.  Effective date.

This act shall take effect in 60 days.
