SENATE RESOLUTION

INTRODUCED BY ORIE, ALLOWAY AND VOGEL, SEPTEMBER 15, 2010

REFERRED TO STATE GOVERNMENT, SEPTEMBER 15, 2010  

A RESOLUTION

Directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to

complete a comprehensive review of State real property,

roadways, bridges and waterways.

WHEREAS, A comprehensive inventory of State real property and

resources is part of a necessary effort to improve fiscal

efficiency; and

WHEREAS, Such an inventory will help determine whether State

property should be sold or leased for purposes such as natural

gas extraction; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate direct the Legislative Budget and

Finance Committee to complete a comprehensive review of State

real property, roadways, bridges and waterways; and be it

further 

RESOLVED, That the report contain the following elements:

(1)  A listing of real property, including improvements,

owned by the Commonwealth.

(2)  The total acreage of the real property, square

footage of any facility on the property, the current use of

the property and facilities and the current market value of

the property.

(3)  A listing of all State roadways and bridges,

including rights-of-way.

(4)  A listing of State waterways.

(5)  A listing of any owner with mineral rights in

property where the Commonwealth is the surface owner.

(6)  Recommendations on improving the Commonwealth's

process for identifying and selling surplus property; and be

it further

RESOLVED, That the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee

report its findings and recommendations to the Senate as soon as

possible.
