A RESOLUTION

Offering heartfelt condolences to the victims, family and

2

friends involved in the terrible tragedy at the L.A. Fitness

3

gym in Collier Township, Pennsylvania.

4

WHEREAS, Collier Township is a tightly knit community near

5

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and

6

WHEREAS, The residents of Collier Township were devastated by

7

an unthinkable tragedy on August 4, 2009, when a gunman killed

8

three people and injured nine in a mass shooting spree; and

9

WHEREAS, Jody Billingsley of Mt. Lebanon, Elizabeth "Betsy"

10

Gannon of Green Tree, and Heidi Overmier of Carnegie lost their

11

lives in this senseless and unwarranted attack; and

12

WHEREAS, These women will all be forever remembered by a long

13

list of people who loved them; and

14

WHEREAS, The family and friends of the victims are in a

15

period of great mourning and need our support and prayers during

this very difficult time; therefore be it

2

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

3

offer its heartfelt condolences to the victims' family and

4

friends who have been deeply affected by these tragic events;

5

and be it further

6

RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to the

7

families of the victims.
