AN ACT

Making an appropriation to the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic

Medicine, Erie.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

4

hereby enacts as follows:

5

Section 1.  The sum of $415,000 is hereby appropriated to the

6

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, for the fiscal

7

year July 1, 2009, to June 30, 2010, for instruction in the

8

Doctor of Osteopathy program.

Section 2.  Payments to the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic

10

Medicine on account of the appropriation provided in section 1

11

shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the

12

basis of costs during the fiscal year.

Section 3.  The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine

14

shall provide full, complete and accurate information as may be

15

required by the Department of Education or the chairman or the

16

minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate

17

or the chairman or the minority chairman of the Appropriations

18

Committee of the House of Representatives.

Section 4.  The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine

2

shall report its revenues and expenditures and present its

3

financial statements in accordance with generally accepted

4

accounting principles and procedures for educational

5

institutions as set forth in the "Higher Education Finance

6

Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Budget

7

Instructions for the State System of Higher Education, State-

8

Related Universities and Non-State-Related Colleges and

9

Universities."

Section 5.  The Trustees of the Lake Erie College of

11

Osteopathic Medicine shall report on forms provided by the

12

Department of Education to both the chairman and minority

13

chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate and the

14

chairman and minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee

15

of the House of Representatives by September 30, 2010, on how

16

State-appropriated funds were expended for fiscal year 2009-2010

17

to reduce the costs to Pennsylvania resident students or to

18

provide services to Pennsylvania residents.

19

Section 6.  This act shall take effect immediately.
