| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the |
2 | Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for |
3 | exceptions to governmental immunity. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 8542 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania |
7 | Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read: |
8 | § 8542. Exceptions to governmental immunity. |

10 | (b.1) Tax sale property.--No liability shall be imposed on a |
11 | county or county tax claim bureau for any of the acts set forth |
12 | in subsection (b) as a result of a county or a county tax claim |
13 | bureau having acquired legal or equitable title or possession, |
14 | care, custody or control of property in accordance with the act |
15 | of May 16, 1923 (P.L.207, No.153), referred to as the Municipal |
16 | Claim and Tax Lien Law, the act of July 7, 1947 (P.L.1368, |
17 | No.542), known as the Real Estate Tax Sale Law, or any other act |
18 | authorizing a tax sale or treasurer's sale on tax liens. |
