AN ACT

Amending the act of July 31, 2003 (P.L.73, No.17), entitled "An

2

act establishing a grant program for volunteer fire companies

3

and volunteer ambulance services; and providing for grant

4

funding," providing for an exemption from the Right-to-Know

5

Law.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

7

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  The act of July 31, 2003 (P.L.73, No.17), known

9

as the Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service

10

Grant Act, is amended by adding a section to read:

11

Section 901.2.  Right-to-Know Law.

12

(a)  Nonapplicability.--Except as set forth in subsection

13

(b), none of the following are subject to the act of February

14

14, 2008 (P.L.6, No.3), known as the Right-to-Know Law:

15

(1)  A volunteer ambulance service.

16

(2)  A volunteer fire company.

(3)  A volunteer rescue company.

(4)  A volunteer water rescue company.

(5)  A volunteer organization that provides hazardous

3

materials response services.

(6)  A volunteer organization that provides emergency

5

medical services.

(b)  Applicability.--

7

(1)  An entity listed in subsection (a) is subject to the

8

Right-to-Know Law if the entity has a contract with a local

9

agency to provide services to the local agency.

10

(2)  As used in this subsection, the term "local agency"

11

has the meaning given in section 102 of the Right-to-Know

12

Law.

13

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
