A RESOLUTION

  

1

Extending condolences on the death of U.S. Naval Petty Officer

2

2nd Class Brian M. Patton, who was killed in the line of duty

3

on November 19, 2009, in Kuwait.

4

WHEREAS, U.S. Naval Petty Officer 2nd Class Brian M. Patton

5

was born on June 12, 1972, in Nanticoke, and was a graduate of

6

Stockton High School, Stockton, Illinois; and

7

WHEREAS, Petty Officer Patton worked as a corrections officer

8

at the State Correctional Institution at Dallas, Pennsylvania;

9

and

10

WHEREAS, Petty Officer Patton held an associate's degree in

criminal justice and a bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana

2

University of Pennsylvania; and

3

WHEREAS, Petty Officer Patton was serving as a reservist with

4

the Department of the Navy in Kuwait; and 

5

WHEREAS, Petty Officer Patton was killed in the line of duty

6

in a vehicle crash on November 19, 2009, while serving in

7

Kuwait; and

8

WHEREAS, Petty Officer Patton is survived by his wife of nine

9

years, Amy Beth Hynoski Patton; sons Brian James Patton and

10

Nicholas Patton and a stepson, Tyler Kozlofski; brothers Robert

11

Patton and Scott Patton; and aunts, uncles and cousins; and

12

WHEREAS, The House of Representatives mourns the loss of

13

Petty Officer Brian M. Patton and honors his personal bravery,

14

exemplary citizenship and dedicated military service; therefore

15

be it

16

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend

17

condolences on the death of Petty Officer Brian M. Patton, who

18

was killed in the line of duty on November 19, 2009, in Kuwait;

19

and be it further

20

RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to

21

Petty Officer Patton's widow, Mrs. Amy Patton.
