| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Recognizing January 4, 2010, as "World Hypnotism Day" in |
2 | Pennsylvania. |
3 | WHEREAS, January 4th is celebrated as "World Hypnotism Day" |
4 | in more than 22 nations; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Hypnosis has been shown to have the capability to |
6 | reduce stress, improve the quality of life and provide many |
7 | other personal and social benefits; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Hypnosis was recognized by the medical profession in |
9 | 1958 as complementary to its services and also is emerging as a |
10 | recognized distinct profession with a rigorous code of ethics |
11 | under the guidance of the National Guild of Hypnotists; and |
12 | WHEREAS, There are practitioners of hypnosis in the |
13 | Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who are further contributing to |
14 | raising public awareness by actively participating in "World |
15 | Hypnotism Day"; and |
16 | WHEREAS, The House of Representatives wishes to recognize |
17 | "World Hypnotism Day"; therefore be it |
