A RESOLUTION

Condemning the Philadelphia Women's Center for providing free

2

abortions in honor of the memory of the late Dr. George

3

Tiller.

4

WHEREAS, Dr. George Tiller, one of only a few doctors in the

5

nation to perform abortions late in pregnancy, was shot to death

6

at his church in Wichita, Kansas; and

7

WHEREAS, In June 2009, the Philadelphia Women's Center

8

provided free abortions for one day in honor of the memory of

9

Dr. Tiller; and

10

WHEREAS, Attacks on individuals and facilities that provide

11

abortions to women are reprehensible, are never justifiable and

12

are vehemently condemned by pro-life organizations across the

13

nation; and

14

WHEREAS, Providing free abortions in honor of a slain

15

individual who was active in providing abortions is equally

16

reprehensible and never a justifiable response to a heinous

crime; and

WHEREAS, Abortion costs the life of an innocent baby and puts

3

its mother at risk for increased medical and emotional duress;

4

therefore be it

5

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives condemn the

6

Philadelphia Women's Center for providing free abortions in

7

honor of the memory of the late Dr. George Tiller.
