A RESOLUTION

Designating the month of April 2009 as "Grange Month" in

2

Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State Grange is a leader in

4

agriculture and community and family affairs; and

5

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State Grange provides the

6

opportunity for individual expression and personal growth and

7

promotes grass-roots involvement in the legislative process; and

8

WHEREAS, Pennsylvanians take great pride in our rich

9

agricultural heritage; and

10

WHEREAS, Our international reputation for quality

11

agricultural products has been earned through generations of

12

hard work and dedication by farm families; and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State Grange has fulfilled its

2

creed of people, pride and progress since 1873; and

3

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State Grange has remained dedicated

4

to improving farming and rural life for all Pennsylvanians

5

through initiatives in agriculture, education, transportation,

6

tax reform, rural development and health care; and

7

WHEREAS, Committed to honest labor and willing service, the

8

Pennsylvania State Grange has helped to sustain the quality of

9

life of rural Pennsylvanians; therefore be it

10

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the

11

month of April 2009 as "Grange Month" in Pennsylvania in

12

recognition of the Pennsylvania State Grange and its dedication

13

to personal growth, service to others and the strengthening of

14

families and communities; and be it further

15

RESOLVED, That all residents of this Commonwealth are

16

encouraged to acknowledge and applaud the achievements of the

17

Pennsylvania State Grange.
