| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the |
2 | Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for contact |
3 | information of a county agency to be provided to a dependent |
4 | child. |
5 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
6 | hereby enacts as follows: |
7 | Section 1. Section 6351(d) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania |
8 | Consolidated Statutes is amended to read: |
9 | § 6351. Disposition of dependent child. |

11 | (d) County programs.-- |
12 | (1) Every county of this Commonwealth shall develop |
13 | programs for children under paragraph (5) or (6) of the |
14 | definition of "dependent child" in section 6302 (relating to |
15 | definitions). |
16 | (2) In order to ensure the protection and to prevent the |
17 | abuse of dependent children, a county children and youth |

1 | services office shall assign a staff member to receive calls |
2 | from dependent children who have been abused or are in fear |
3 | of abuse. This staff member must be able to be reached at all |
4 | times. Immediately upon being adjudicated dependent, a child |
5 | shall be given a card with the contact information of the |
6 | aforementioned staff member by a county children and youth |
7 | services office. A county children and youth services office |
8 | must give a child who has already been adjudicated dependent |
9 | a card with the contact information of the aforementioned |
10 | staff member within seven days of the effective date of this |
11 | section. If the contact information of the staff member |
12 | changes, every dependent child must be given updated contact |
13 | information immediately. |
