| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Making appropriations from a restricted revenue account within |
2 | the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the |
3 | Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission; and providing for the |
4 | additional appropriation of Federal funds from the General |
5 | Fund to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for the |
6 | fiscal year July 1, 2009, to June 30, 2010. |
7 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
8 | hereby enacts as follows: |
9 | Section 1. (a) The following sums, or as much thereof as |
10 | may be necessary, are specifically appropriated from the |
11 | restricted revenue account within the General Fund and from |
12 | Federal augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility |
13 | Commission to provide for the operation of the commission for |
14 | the fiscal year July 1, 2010, to June 30, 2011, for the purposes |
15 | and in the amounts shown: |
16 | | Federal | State | 17 18 19 20 | For the salaries, wages and all necessary expenses for the proper operation and administration of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, | | | | 1 2 3 | including the chairman and commissioners and the Bureau of Safety and Enforcement. | | | 4 | State appropriation............ | | 56,003,000 | 5 6 7 8 9 10 | The following Federal augmentation amounts, or as much thereof as may be necessary, are specifically appropriated to supplement the sum authorized to be billed to utilities for the operation of the commission: | | | 11 12 13 14 | (1) "Natural Gas Pipeline Safety" - To enforce the regulations of the Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Act. | | | 15 | Federal appropriation........... | 1,501,000 | | 16 | (2) "Motor Carrier Safety." | | | 17 | Federal appropriation........... | 1,888,000 | | 18 19 | (3) "ARRA - Electric Regulatory Assistance." | | | 20 | Federal appropriation........... | 868,000 | | 21 22 23 24 25 | Any Federal funds which the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission receives pursuant to these appropriations shall not be reimbursed to any utility. | | |

26 | (b) The following Federal amounts, or as much thereof as may |
27 | be necessary, are hereby appropriated to the Pennsylvania Public |
28 | Utility Commission for the fiscal year July 1, 2009, to June 30, |
29 | 2010, for the purposes and in the amounts as shown, including |
30 | the payment of bills remaining unpaid at the close of the fiscal |

5 | (c) For purposes of this section, "ARRA" means the American |
6 | Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Public Law 111-5, 123 |
7 | Stat. 115). |
8 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010, or |
9 | immediately, whichever is later. |
