AN ACT

Designating the portion of McClintock Road that intersects with

State Route 48, known as Jack's Run Road, over Jack's Run

Stream, White Oak Borough, Allegheny County, bridge in the

<--

Borough of White Oak, Allegheny County, carrying State Route

2033 over Jack's Run Stream as the Milton L. Lebowitz

Memorial Bridge.

The General Assembly finds and declares as follows:

(1)  Milton L. Lebowitz was a dedicated, active and

prominent member of the White Oak community as a volunteer,

businessman and public servant.

(2)  Born in 1932, Mr. Lebowitz served this nation in the

Korean War, married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Rosner,

and resided in White Oak Borough for more than 40 years.

(3)  Mr. Lebowitz spent more than four decades as the

owner and operator of a commercial dry cleaning business.

(4)  Mr. Lebowitz was a member of the White Oak

Recreation Board in the early 1970s, where he was involved in

the development of the Heritage Hill recreation complex,

including the community park and swimming pool.

(5)  Mr. Lebowitz later served eight years as a member of

the White Oak Borough Council from 1976 through 1983 and as

mayor of White Oak Borough from 1998 until his death in 2003.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Milton Lebowitz Memorial Bridge.

(a)  Designation.--The portion of McClintock Road that

intersects with State Route 48, known as Jack's Run Road, over

Jack's Run Stream, White Oak Borough, Allegheny County, bridge

in the Borough of White Oak, Allegheny County, carrying State

Route 2033 (McClintock Road) over Jack's Run Stream is

designated as the Milton L. Lebowitz Memorial Bridge.

(b)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and

maintain signs displaying the name of the bridge to traffic in

both directions on the bridge.

Section 2.  Effective date.

This act shall take effect immediately in 60 days.
