A RESOLUTION 1 Designating May 1, 2007, as "Silver Star Families of America 2 Day" in Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has always proudly 4 honored the sacrifice of the men and women in the United States 5 Armed Forces; and 6 WHEREAS, The Silver Star Families of America was formed to 7 make sure we remember the blood sacrifice of our wounded by 8 designing and manufacturing a silver star banner and flag; and 9 WHEREAS, To date The Silver Star Families of America has 10 freely given out hundreds of star banners to the wounded and 11 their families; and 12 WHEREAS, The members of the Silver Star Families of America 13 have worked tirelessly to provide the wounded of this 14 Commonwealth and country with silver star banners, flags and 15 care packages; and 16 WHEREAS, The Silver Star Families of America's sole mission
1 is to ensure every time someone sees a silver star banner in a 2 window or a star flag flying that people remember those who have 3 sacrificed for their state and country; and 4 WHEREAS, The people of Pennsylvania wish that the sacrifice 5 of so many servicepersons never be forgotten; therefore be it 6 RESOLVED, That the Senate designate May 1, 2007, as "Silver 7 Star Families of America Day" in Pennsylvania to honor its 8 commitment to our wounded armed forces members.
