SENATE RESOLUTION

        INTRODUCED BY PILEGGI, JANUARY 16, 2007

        REFERRED TO RULES AND EXECUTIVE NOMINATIONS, JANUARY 16, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Consenting to the elimination of requirement to disclose
     2     nominees' Social Security numbers for purposes of Senate
     3     Nominations Questionaire.

     4     WHEREAS, Pursuant to section 207.1(g) of The Administrative
     5  Code of 1929, nominees to positions for which Senate
     6  confirmation is required must complete and submit to the Senate
     7  a Senate Nominations Questionaire; and
     8     WHEREAS, The current form includes a requirement to disclose
     9  the nominee's Social Security number; and
    10     WHEREAS, Disclosure of a nominee's Social Security number is
    11  not required by Pennsylvania law; and
    12     WHEREAS, The Governor's Office has requested that the
    13  disclosure of a nominee's Social Security number be eliminated
    14  from the Senate Nominations Questionaire; and
    15     WHEREAS, The authority to prescribe the nonstatutory contents
    16  of the Senate Nominations Questionaire is vested jointly in the
    17  Governor and the Committee on Rules and Executive Nominations;
    18  therefore be it


     1     RESOLVED, That the Committee on Rules and Executive
     2  Nominations does hereby consent to the elimination of the
     3  requirement that a nominee disclose the nominee's Social
     4  Security number when completing the Senate Nominations
     5  Questionaire; and be it further
     6     RESOLVED, That the Chairman of the Committee on Rules and
     7  Executive Nominations advise the Governor of this action.
