AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," in high schools, further providing
6 for academic degrees.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 1611 of the act of March 10, 1949
10 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is
11 amended by adding a subsection to read:
12 Section 1611. Academic Degrees.--* * *
13 (a.1) Notwithstanding the provisions of Article XXVI-B, or
14 any other provision of law, any Statewide requirements for high
15 school graduation from a public school entity in this
16 Commonwealth, beyond any Statewide requirements in effect as of
17 the effective date of this subsection, shall be established only
18 by an act of the General Assembly.
