                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, requiring sellers of prepaid cellular
     3     phones to keep a record of each transaction.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 7330.1.  Records of prepaid cellular phone sales.
     9     (a)  Requirement.--Any person who sells a prepaid cellular
    10  phone shall keep a record of the transaction to include the name
    11  and address of the purchaser, a photocopy of the person's
    12  photoidentification and the identification of the phone.
    13     (b)  Penalty.--Any person who violates subsection (a) commits
    14  a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to
    15  pay a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $300 or to
    16  imprisonment for not more than 90 days.
    17     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
