        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           NOVEMBER 12, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring the Folsom Fire Company on the 100th anniversary of its
     2     founding.

     3     WHEREAS, In 1909, the members of the Folsom Fire Company
     4  purchased a one-story brick building, which started a century of
     5  assisting the community through their fire department and
     6  emergency medical services; and
     7     WHEREAS, In 1912, the roof of the Folsom Fire Company
     8  building was raised to build a second floor; and
     9     WHEREAS, The Folsom Fire Company was one of the first in the
    10  area to acquire a motorized vehicle; and
    11     WHEREAS, The Folsom Fire Company is comprised of many
    12  volunteers who serve the Folsom area and its surrounding
    13  communities through their fire department and emergency medical

     1  services; and
     2     WHEREAS, The Folsom Fire Company moved into a new facility in
     3  2005; and
     4     WHEREAS, The new building was paid for by the hard-working
     5  members of the company who had various fund raisers throughout
     6  the years, and no tax money was used for the construction of the
     7  new station; and
     8     WHEREAS, The Folsom Fire Company celebrated its 100th
     9  anniversary on September 27, 2008; therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the Folsom
    11  Fire Company on the 100th anniversary of its founding; and be it
    12  further
    13     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
    14  the Folsom Fire Company.
