        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           OCTOBER 6, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring the Rosebud Miners Relay for Life Team upon becoming
     2     the first group in the nation to raise more than $1 million
     3     for the American Cancer Society.

     4     WHEREAS, The Rosebud Miners Relay for Life Team has raised
     5  more than $1 million in donations and contributions to benefit
     6  the American Cancer Society, which greatly benefits all of the
     7  citizens of this Commonwealth; and
     8     WHEREAS, The Rosebud Miners Relay for Life Team is the first
     9  group in the United States to raise more than $1 million in
    10  support of the American Cancer Society; and
    11     WHEREAS, The Rosebud Miners Relay for Life Team reached the
    12  $1 million mark in just six years; and
    13     WHEREAS, The team consists of employees of Rosebud Mining who
    14  have developed creative ways to raise funds, including payroll
    15  deductions, raffles and wing nights, with the company matching

     1  the amount raised by the team; and
     2     WHEREAS, Throughout its history, the Rosebud Mining Relay for
     3  Life Team has made inestimable contributions to the welfare of
     4  society and has helped to enhance the quality of life for all;
     5  therefore be it
     6     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the Rosebud
     7  Miners Relay for Life Team upon being the first group to raise
     8  more than $1 million for the American Cancer Society and offer
     9  its best wishes for continued success in the years to come; and
    10  be it further
    11     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
    12  the Rosebud Miners Relay for Life Team, 301 Market Street,
    13  Kittanning, Pennsylvania 16201.
