        INTRODUCED BY PHILLIPS, BELFANTI, FAIRCHILD, CALTAGIRONE,
           CUTLER, DONATUCCI, FLECK, FRANKEL, GEORGE, GIBBONS,
           HENNESSEY, HERSHEY, JAMES, KULA, MAJOR, MANTZ, MILLARD,
           D. O'BRIEN, PAYNE, ROCK, RUBLEY, SAINATO, SCAVELLO, THOMAS,
           VULAKOVICH, J. WHITE, MYERS, BEYER AND SIPTROTH, JUNE 4, 2008

        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           JUNE 4, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring the Prehistoric Journeys team on its efforts relating
     2     to the Apatosaurus (Brontosaurus) excelsus dinosaur.

     3     WHEREAS, The people of this Commonwealth are justly proud of
     4  the Prehistoric Journeys team of Sunbury, who have earned
     5  themselves a niche in paleontological annals by preparing,
     6  reconstructing and display-mounting the complete 72-foot-long
     7  skeleton of the first Apatosaurus (Brontosaurus) excelsus
     8  dinosaur with an original, related skull; and
     9     WHEREAS, Barry James and April Rhodes-James, owners of
    10  Prehistoric Journeys, along with their able team members, Giles
    11  Wickham, Dean Raker, Scott Rohrbach and Aaron Whyne, have
    12  completed the Apatosaurus (Brontosaurus) excelsus dinosaur
    13  project in the Sunbury workshop; and
    14     WHEREAS, The finding is significant as a major scientific
    15  discovery for the 21st century because it is the first
    16  discovered dinosaur of this species with an incomparable 85% of

     1  its skeleton and a skull and brain case; and
     2     WHEREAS, It can now be shown exactly how this dinosaur looked
     3  during its lifetime some 140 million years ago in what is now
     4  Wyoming, where the skeleton was found and excavated on private
     5  ranch land; and
     6     WHEREAS, The skeleton was shipped by Cellitti Movers of
     7  Sunbury to the workshop of Prehistoric Journeys for preparation
     8  and display-mounting; and
     9     WHEREAS, For 130 years, since the first Apatosaurus
    10  (Brontosaurus) excelsus dinosaur bones were discovered and
    11  named, a related skull has never been found until that of
    12  "Einstein"; and
    13     WHEREAS, Other citizens of central Pennsylvania who assisted
    14  in various ways to ensure this project was brought to fruition
    15  were John and Karen Campbell of Sunbury, Nancy Cleaver and Misha
    16  Kryzytski of Lewisburg, Hugh and Mary Grimes of Selinsgrove,
    17  Kate Lesslie and Chris Snyder of Lewisburg, Robert and Sanae
    18  Poust of Sunbury and Rodney Raker of Sunbury; and
    19     WHEREAS, The Prehistoric Journeys team is an outstanding
    20  example of a scientific business going above and beyond the
    21  criteria, and it is deserving of congratulations and
    22  commendation; therefore be it
    23     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the
    24  Prehistoric Journeys team on its unique talents, its dedication
    25  and its valuable work in bringing this scientifically
    26  significant Apatosaurus (Brontosaurus) excelsus dinosaur
    27  skeleton back to life; and be it further
    28     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend its best
    29  wishes to the Prehistoric Journeys team for continued success in
    30  its future endeavors; and be it further

     2  transmitted to Barry James and April Rhodes-James, Dean Raker,
