        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 9, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Congratulating Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network for
     2     providing 100 years of outstanding health care and
     3     rehabilitative services to residents of this Commonwealth.

     4     WHEREAS, On February 21, 2008, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation
     5  Network celebrated its 100th anniversary; and
     6     WHEREAS, The organization, founded by the Reverend Dr. John
     7  H. and D. Estella Raker in 1908, began as a small home for
     8  children with disabilities and the elderly; and
     9     WHEREAS, Today, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network is a
    10  nationally recognized rehabilitation leader, offering a
    11  continuum of care for people with physical and cognitive
    12  disabilities; and
    13     WHEREAS, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network offers programs
    14  and services to more than 36,600 people each year at 31 sites in
    15  seven eastern Pennsylvania counties; and
    16     WHEREAS, As the organization celebrates a century of care,

     1  Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network is focused on the future of
     2  rehabilitation, which includes assistive and rehabilitation
     3  technology for persons who have suffered stroke, injuries or
     4  illness; and
     5     WHEREAS, In July 2008, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network
     6  will bring its expert rehabilitation to a new market, when Good
     7  Shepherd Penn Partners, a joint venture with the University of
     8  Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, opens its doors;
     9  therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate Good
    11  Shepherd Rehabilitation Network for providing 100 years of
    12  outstanding health care and rehabilitative services to residents
    13  of this Commonwealth.
