INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, APRIL 2, 2008
A RESOLUTION 1 Congratulating the Children's Advisory Commission of Indiana 2 County upon the recognition of Indiana County as one of the 3 100 Best Communities for Young People for 2008. 4 WHEREAS, The House of Representatives takes great pride in 5 recognizing those organizations which, through adherence to the 6 highest standards of service, contribute in a meaningful way 7 toward a better and more productive society; and 8 WHEREAS, The Children's Advisory Commission of Indiana County 9 is an advocate for the children and youth of Indiana County; and 10 WHEREAS, As a result of the commitment of the Children's 11 Advisory Commission of Indiana County to provide opportunities 12 for the young people of Indiana County to grow and succeed, the 13 county has been recognized as one of the 100 Best Communities 14 for Young People for 2008 by the America's Promise Alliance, in
1 partnership with Capital One; and 2 WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes 100 outstanding 3 communities across this nation that are the best places for 4 young people in which to live and grow; and 5 WHEREAS, Through the efforts of the Children's Advisory 6 Commission of Indiana County, Indiana County was selected for 7 this award from among more than 300 communities throughout this 8 nation; and 9 WHEREAS, The Children's Advisory Commission of Indiana County 10 has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the five promises of 11 providing young people with caring adults, safe places, a 12 healthy start, effective education and opportunities to help 13 others since its establishment in 1996; and 14 WHEREAS, By steady adherence to the principles of fairness, 15 reliability and integrity, it has become a leader in the 16 community and a model that is worthy of emulation; and 17 WHEREAS, Over the years, those in leadership positions, as 18 well as its members, have contributed in a tremendous way to its 19 growth and development; therefore be it 20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate the 21 Children's Advisory Commission of Indiana County upon the 22 recognition which has been accorded it and extend warmest wishes 23 for a future replete with ever-increasing success and service to 24 the community; and be it further 25 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to 26 the Children's Advisory Commission of Indiana County, 827 Water 27 Street, Indiana, PA 15701.
