A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing April 7, 2008, as "Service Dog Day" in Pennsylvania. 2 WHEREAS, It is appropriate to promote greater awareness and 3 understanding about the important role of Service/Assistance 4 dogs and the positive difference these animals make in the lives 5 of others; and 6 WHEREAS, Service dogs have helped many Pennsylvania residents 7 with disabilities to regain their freedom through physical aid, 8 emotional support and companionship; and 9 WHEREAS, Service dogs serve as a connection with society for 10 many citizens with visible and invisible disabilities, thereby
1 enabling citizens with disabilities to regain freedom as a 2 result of the assistance given by these extraordinary animals; 3 and 4 WHEREAS, The Commonwealth is pleased to recognize the great 5 service of these wonderful animals in enriching and improving 6 the lives of many Pennsylvania residents; therefore be it 7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize April 8 7, 2008, as "Service Dog Day" in Pennsylvania.
