A RESOLUTION 1 Urging the United States Department of Defense to support 2 American companies when awarding contracts regarding the 3 replacement of its fleet of Boeing KC-135 tankers. 4 WHEREAS, The United States Department of Defense is planning 5 to replace its aging fleet of Boeing KC-135 tankers; and 6 WHEREAS, The American-designed and American-built Boeing KC- 7 135 tanker jet is clearly state of the art, having gained the 8 "lion's share" of customers worldwide and having shown an 9 impressive track record in its service to United States troops; 10 and 11 WHEREAS, The Boeing KC-135 has complemented the United States 12 military with superior capacity and reliability in maintaining a 13 mission-ready status for more than 50 years; and 14 WHEREAS, There is broad agreement that the United States
1 Department of Defense clearly needs to replace its refueling 2 aircraft; and 3 WHEREAS, The United States, and especially the men and women 4 serving in the armed forces, deserve to have the very best 5 equipment with which to carry out their mission; therefore be it 6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge the United 7 States Department of Defense to support American companies when 8 awarding contracts regarding the replacement of its fleet of 9 Boeing KC-135 tankers; and be it further 10 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to 11 the United States Department of Defense.
