        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           DECEMBER 3, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Commemorating December 7, 2007, as "Pearl Harbor Remembrance
     2     Day" and encouraging local governments and communities
     3     throughout this Commonwealth to conduct appropriate
     4     observances of "Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day."

     5     WHEREAS, December 7, 2007, marks the 66th anniversary of the
     6  Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor; and
     7     WHEREAS, More than 2,400 military and civilian lives were
     8  lost during the 110-minute attack on the morning of December 7,
     9  1941; and
    10     WHEREAS, The people of this Commonwealth and our nation
    11  recognize the bravery of those who lost their lives or suffered
    12  injuries on that day of infamy; therefore be it
    13     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commemorate
    14  December 7, 2007, as "Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day"; and be it
    15  further


     1     RESOLVED, That local governments and communities throughout
     2  this Commonwealth be encouraged to conduct appropriate
     3  observances of "Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day."
