        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           OCTOBER 3, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Congratulating Franklin D. Linn, Sr., who will retire on
     2     November 15, 2007, from the House of Representatives
     3     Republican Caucus after 45 years of service.

     4     WHEREAS, Franklin D. Linn, Sr., was hired by the Republican
     5  Caucus of the House of Representatives on October 16, 1963, and
     6  has worked continuously for the Caucus since that time; and
     7     WHEREAS, Mr. Linn will retire on November 15, 2007, after 45
     8  years of public service to the Legislature; and
     9     WHEREAS, Mr. Linn recently stated, "I consider it a great
    10  honor to have worked for the House of Representatives for this


     1  many years"; and
     2     WHEREAS, Mr. Linn has visited children at Christmastime,
     3  portraying Santa Claus and distributing presents and goodwill at
     4  shopping malls and other public places since 1955; and
     5     WHEREAS, Mr. Linn has been a public servant throughout his
     6  long and industrious life, serving in the Cub Scouts and Boy
     7  Scouts of America, as president of his class at Central Dauphin
     8  High School, as an officer and member of numerous civic
     9  organizations, as a Lower Swatara Township Commissioner for more
    10  than 33 years and as a specialist in the Intergovernmental
    11  Affairs Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives;
    12  and
    13     WHEREAS, Mr. Linn is married to the former Paulette Houser,
    14  and they are the parents of three children, Frank, Jr.,
    15  Stephanie and Tammy, and the grandparents of four grandchildren,
    16  Abby, Nick, Morgan and Alex; therefore be it
    17     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate
    18  Franklin D. Linn, Sr., who will retire on November 15, 2007,
    19  from the House of Representatives Republican Caucus where he has
    20  served for 45 years.
