A RESOLUTION 1 Amending House Rule 17, further providing for order of business. 2 RESOLVED, That House Rule 17 be amended to read: 3 RULE 17 4 Order of Business 5 The daily order of business shall be: 6 (1) Prayer by the Chaplain. 7 (2) Pledge of Allegiance. 8 (3) Correction and approval of the Journal. 9 (4) Leaves of absence. 10 (5) Master Roll Call. 11 (6) Noncontroversial resolutions.--All resolutions deemed 12 noncontroversial by the Speaker, excluding condolence 13 resolutions, shall be voted on together at the same 14 time by a voice vote one time per session week. 15 (7) Presentations for visiting persons or groups.--All 16 presentations for visiting persons or groups shall
1 take place one time per session week immediately 2 following vote on noncontroversial resolutions, 3 excluding condolence resolutions. 4 [(6)] (8) Reports of Committee. 5 [(7)] (9) First consideration bills. 6 [(8)] (10) Second consideration bills. 7 [(9)] (11) Third consideration bills, final passage bills 8 (including both third consideration and final passage 9 postponed bills) and resolutions. 10 [(10)] (12) Final passage bills recalled from the Governor. 11 [(11)] (13) Messages from the Senate and communications from 12 the Governor. 13 [(12)] (14) Reference to appropriate committees of bills, 14 resolutions, petitions, memorials, remonstrances and 15 other papers. 16 [(13)] (15) Unfinished business on the Speaker's table. 17 [(14)] (16) Announcements. 18 [(15)] (17) Adjournment. 19 Any question may, by a majority vote of the members elected, 20 be made a special order of business. When the time arrives for 21 its consideration, the Speaker shall lay the special order of 22 business before the House. 23 In lieu of offering House Resolutions on topics of importance 24 to members, any member, without unanimous consent, may address 25 the House on such issue and have his or her remarks entered into 26 the record during a special period of time established each week 27 by the Speaker at the conclusion of House business on a specific 28 day.
