A RESOLUTION 1 Honoring the life and extending condolences for the supreme 2 sacrifice of Marine Lance Corporal Brandon J. Van Parys of 3 New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, who was killed on February 5, 4 2007, when he was struck by a grenade while on patrol in 5 Anbar Province, Iraq. 6 WHEREAS, Lance Cpl. Van Parys was born in Norristown, a son 7 of Alan J. Van Parys and Catherine Heritage Hearn; and 8 WHEREAS, Lance Cpl. Van Parys was a 2005 graduate of 9 Northwestern Lehigh High School in New Tripoli; and 10 WHEREAS, Lance Cpl. Van Parys attended Lehigh Carbon
1 Community College; and 2 WHEREAS, Lance Cpl. Van Parys was a member of New Life 3 Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Tripoli; and 4 WHEREAS, Lance Cpl. Van Parys was a junior firefighter with 5 Community Fire Company in New Tripoli; and 6 WHEREAS, Lance Cpl. Van Parys's survivors, in addition to his 7 parents, include his siblings, Christopher Van Parys, Daniel Van 8 Parys, Samuel Hearn, Jesse Hearn and Ashley Hearn; and 9 WHEREAS, Lance Cpl. Van Parys proudly served with the 3rd 10 Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine 11 Expeditionary Force; therefore be it 12 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the life 13 and extend condolences for the supreme sacrifice of Lance Cpl. 14 Brandon J.
