        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 13, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing the many Freemasons resident throughout this
     2     Commonwealth and honoring them for their many contributions
     3     to the nation and this Commonwealth.

     4     WHEREAS, Freemasons, whose long lineage extends back to
     5  before the nation's founding, have set an example of high moral
     6  standards and charity for all people; and
     7     WHEREAS, The Founding Fathers of this great nation and
     8  signers of the Constitution, most of whom were Freemasons,
     9  provided a well-rounded basis for developing themselves and
    10  others into valuable citizens of the United States; and
    11     WHEREAS, Members of the Masonic fraternity, individually and
    12  as an organization, continue to make invaluable charitable
    13  contributions of service to the United States and to this


     1  Commonwealth; and
     2     WHEREAS, The Masonic fraternity continues to provide for the
     3  charitable relief and education of the citizens of the United
     4  States and residents of this Commonwealth; and
     5     WHEREAS, The Masonic fraternity is deserving of formal
     6  recognition of its long history of caregiving for the citizenry
     7  and their example of high moral standards; and
     8     WHEREAS, Freemasons have always revered and celebrated St.
     9  John's Day, June 24, as dedicated to their patron saint;
    10  therefore be it
    11     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
    12  many Freemasons resident throughout this Commonwealth and honor
    13  them for their many contributions to the nation and this
    14  Commonwealth.
