        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 5, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Observing April 29, 2007, as "Joseph Kempf Day" in Pennsylvania
     2     in recognition of the dedication of Squad 2-7 of the
     3     Neffsville Community Fire Company, Lancaster County, to the
     4     memory of Joseph Kempf.

     5     WHEREAS, On December 19, 2004, Joseph Kempf, a member of
     6  Neffsville Community Fire Company in Lancaster County, was
     7  assisting at the scene of a vehicle accident on Interstate 80
     8  when he was struck at the scene by a car skidding out of control
     9  and died as a result of his injuries; and
    10     WHEREAS, In recognition of his heroic sacrifice, Mr. Kempf is
    11  being honored by the fire company, whose members are dedicating
    12  its newly formed Squad 2-7 in memory of Joseph Kempf; and
    13     WHEREAS, A celebration of dedication will occur at the fire


     1  company on April 29, 2007; therefore be it
     2     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives observe April 29,
     3  2007, as "Joseph Kempf Day" in Pennsylvania in recognition of
     4  the dedication of Squad 2-7 of the Neffsville Community Fire
     5  Company, Lancaster County, to the memory of Joseph Kempf.
