A RESOLUTION 1 Declaring the week of February 12 through 18, 2007, as "Random 2 Acts of Kindness Week" in Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, During the week of February 12 through 18, 2007, 4 residents of this Commonwealth will join millions of people in 5 hundreds of communities to celebrate the third annual "Random 6 Acts of Kindness Week"; and 7 WHEREAS, The goal of this event, being facilitated by the 8 newly formed Random Acts of Kindness Week Foundation, is to 9 raise "kindness consciousness" by enlightening as many people as 10 possible about the beauty and power of kind acts; and 11 WHEREAS, People from all walks of life support this important 12 movement, from schools to businesses, from mayors' offices to 13 service and youth clubs and from churches and synagogues to 14 hospitals and nursing homes; and
1 WHEREAS, Through their participation, they hope to show 2 others that simple kindnesses such as words of praise, smiles or 3 gestures small or large all contribute to the "rings of 4 kindness" effect that will help change the focus in our country 5 from anger to caring and from violence to harmony; therefore be 6 it 7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives declare February 8 12 through 18, 2007, as "Random Acts of Kindness Week" in 9 Pennsylvania.
