AN ACT
1 Amending Title 62 (Procurement) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, in types of contracts, providing limitations on
3 certain contract extensions.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 62 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 542.1. Contract extensions.
9 (a) General rule.--Except as provided in subsection (b), a
10 contract which is extended past the termination date or which is
11 extended by providing for additional services shall not be
12 effective unless and until the purchasing agency advertises that
13 proposed extension on the department's public information
14 Internet website for a period of ten consecutive business days.
15 (b) Exceptions.--The provision of subsection (a) shall not
16 apply to any contract which has renewable options contained
17 within that contract.
1 Section 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 2009.
