AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing for special procedures pertaining to
3 issuance of parking tickets.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 3355. Special procedure for parking tickets.
9 (a) Digital photograph required.--At the time a parking
10 ticket is issued, the person issuing the ticket shall take a
11 digital photograph clearly depicting the rear of the ticketed
12 vehicle and all registration information on the vehicle's
13 registration plate. The photograph shall be attached to the
14 municipality's copy of the parking ticket.
15 (b) Attachment of photograph.--If a parking ticket is unpaid
16 and a second notice to the owner of the ticketed vehicle is
17 issued, a copy of the photograph required by subsection (a)
1 shall be attached to the second notice.
2 (c) Failure to comply with section.--Failure of a
3 municipality to comply with the provisions of this section shall
4 render the parking ticket void.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 2008.
