AN ACT 1 Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), entitled 2 "An act concerning elections, including general, municipal, 3 special and primary elections, the nomination of candidates, 4 primary and election expenses and election contests; creating 5 and defining membership of county boards of elections; 6 imposing duties upon the Secretary of the Commonwealth, 7 courts, county boards of elections, county commissioners; 8 imposing penalties for violation of the act, and codifying, 9 revising and consolidating the laws relating thereto; and 10 repealing certain acts and parts of acts relating to 11 elections," further providing for compensation of district 12 election officers. 13 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 14 hereby enacts as follows: 15 Section 1. Section 412.2(a) of the act of June 3, 1937 16 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the Pennsylvania Election Code, 17 amended May 12, 2006 (P.L.178, No.45), is amended and the 18 section is amended by adding a subsection to read: 19 Section 412.2. Compensation of District Election Officers.-- 20 (a) [In] Prior to January 1, 2010, and thereafter for the 21 purposes of calculations in subsection (c), in all counties
1 regardless of class, the compensation of judges of election, 2 inspectors of election, clerks and machine operators shall be 3 fixed by the county board of elections for each election in 4 accordance with the following: 5 Election Officers Minimum Maximum 6 Compensation Compensation 7 Judges of election $75 $200 8 Inspectors of election $75 $195 9 Clerks and machine operators $70 $195 10 (a.1) Beginning January 1, 2010, in all counties regardless 11 of class, the compensation of judges of election, inspectors of 12 election, clerks and machine operators shall be established at 13 the discretion of the county board of elections under subsection 14 (c) or shall be fixed by the county board of elections for each 15 election in accordance with the following, whichever is greater: 16 Election Officers Hourly Wage 17 Judges of election $12 per hour 18 Inspectors of election $11 per hour 19 Clerks and machine operators $10 per hour 20 * * * 21 Section 2.
