                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for sex
     3     offender registration procedures and applicability.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 9795.2(a)(1) of Title 42 of the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 9795.2.  Registration procedures and applicability.
     9     (a)  Registration.--
    10         (1)  Offenders and sexually violent predators shall be
    11     required to register with the Pennsylvania State Police
    12     immediately upon [release from incarceration, upon parole
    13     from a State or county correctional institution or upon the
    14     commencement of a sentence of intermediate punishment or
    15     probation.] sentencing by the court. The court shall
    16     designate an appropriate officer to ensure that the


     1     registration requirements in this subchapter are carried out
     2     at the time of sentencing. For purposes of registration,
     3     offenders and sexually violent predators shall provide the
     4     Pennsylvania State Police with all current or intended
     5     residences, all information concerning current or intended
     6     employment and all information concerning current or intended
     7     enrollment as a student.

     9     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
