AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," providing for theology courses.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
9 as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
10 section to read:
11 Section 1205.6. Theology Courses.--An individual who holds a
12 teaching certificate in social studies may include courses taken
13 in theology for the purposes of meeting the requirements of any
14 of the following provisions:
15 (1) Receiving or earning a college certificate or master's
16 degree under section 1144.
17 (2) Receiving a permanent college certificate under section
18 1205.
1 (3) Meeting continuing professional development under
2 section 1205.1.
3 Section 2. The provisions of 22 Pa. Code are abrogated
4 insofar as they are inconsistent with the addition of section
5 1205.6 of the act.
6 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
