AN ACT
1 Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for duties of property
3 owners in cities of the first class prior to installation of
4 electric service.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
9 § 1512. Duty of property owners in cities of the first class
10 prior to installation of electric service.
11 In cities of the first class, real property owners who
12 request that a public utility install an additional electric
13 meter to measure the amount of electricity used in either a
14 portion or the whole of their property shall first provide
15 verifiable proof that the dwelling in which the additional meter
16 will be installed complies with the relevant local zoning
17 requirements regarding single and multifamily use of real
1 property.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
