AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for the required recording
3 of interrogations.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 5704.1. Required recording of interrogations.
9 Any custodial and noncustodial interrogations by a law
10 enforcement officer of any person suspected of committing a
11 felony shall be audiotaped with or without the consent of the
12 person who is being interrogated.
13 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
