AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 13, 1907 (P.L.560, No.373), entitled
2 "An act designating the official flag of the Commonwealth of
3 Pennsylvania, and describing the same; providing for the
4 carrying of such flag by the regiments of the National Guard
5 of Pennsylvania; authorizing the Secretary of the
6 Commonwealth to provide, and have deposited in the office of
7 Secretary of the Commonwealth, a model of said flag, and
8 making an appropriation therefor," further providing for
9 specifications for the official flag of the Commonwealth.
10 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
11 hereby enacts as follows:
12 Section 1. Section 1 of the act of June 13, 1907 (P.L.560,
13 No.373), entitled "An act designating the official flag of the
14 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and describing the same; providing
15 for the carrying of such flag by the regiments of the National
16 Guard of Pennsylvania; authorizing the Secretary of the
17 Commonwealth to provide, and have deposited in the office of
18 Secretary of the Commonwealth, a model of said flag, and making
19 an appropriation therefor," is amended to read:
1 Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That the flag to be known as
2 the official flag of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shall be
3 of blue, same color as the blue field in the flag of the United
4 States, and of the following dimensions and design; to wit, The
5 length, or heighth, of the staff to be nine feet, including
6 brass spear-head and ferrule; the fly of the said flag to be six
7 feet two inches, and to be four feet six inches on the staff; in
8 the center of the flag there shall be embroidered in silk the
9 same on both sides of the flag the coat of arms of the
10 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in proportionate size; the edges
11 to be trimmed with knotted fringe of yellow silk, two and one-
12 half inches wide; a cord, with tassels, to be attached to the
13 staff at the spear-head, to be eight feet six inches long, and
14 composed of white and blue silk strands; the word "Pennsylvania"
15 to be embroidered upon the flag in yellow silk.
16 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
