A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing the contributions of American Gold Star Mothers, 2 Inc. 3 WHEREAS, American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., was established on 4 June 4, 1928, for the purpose of perpetuating the ideals of 5 Americanism for which men and women have so gallantly fought and 6 died; and 7 WHEREAS, The membership of this nonprofit patriotic 8 organization has been composed of women who lost a son or 9 daughter during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the 10 Vietnam Conflict, Beirut, Grenada, Panama, the Persian Gulf, 11 Somalia, Bosnia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, all strategic areas or 12 while in service to our country; and 13 WHEREAS, The American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., a federally 14 chartered organization, is a member of the National Veterans 15 Affairs Voluntary Service Advisory Committee; and 16 WHEREAS, The 150 chapters of American Gold Star Mothers,
1 Inc., throughout the United States give many hours of work and 2 personal service in veterans hospitals and to veterans and their 3 families in their communities; and 4 WHEREAS, The dedication and hard work of the compassionate 5 individuals of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., merit 6 recognition; therefore be it 7 RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize and celebrate the 8 contributions of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc.
