AN ACT
1 Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for requirements for certain
3 job applicants.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 6350. Information relating to other persons.
9 (a) Applicability.--This section applies to persons applying
10 to engage in occupations with a significant likelihood of
11 regular contact with children, in the form of care, guidance,
12 supervision or training. Such persons may include, but are not
13 limited to, social service workers, hospital personnel, mental
14 health professionals, members of the clergy, counselors or
15 doctors. This section also applies to persons who voluntarily
16 provide care, guidance, supervision or training to children
17 through athletic, social or recreational organizations.
18 (b) Investigations.--Employers, administrators or
1 supervisors shall require an applicant to submit to all
2 requirements set forth in section 6344(b) (relating to
3 information relating to prospective child-care personnel).
4 (c) Grounds for denial.--Such applicant shall be subject to
5 the requirements of section 6344(c).
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
