        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           JUNE 7, 2005

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the month of July 2005 as "Pennsylvania Senior Games
     2     Month" in Pennsylvania and recognizing the 25th annual
     3     Pennsylvania Senior Games to be held at Shippensburg
     4     University from July 14 through 17, 2005.

     5     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Senior Games provide social,
     6  recreational and competitive experiences while promoting better
     7  health and fitness among men and women 50 years of age and older
     8  in this Commonwealth; and
     9     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Senior Games are under the
    10  direction of the Keystone State Games, Inc., and are a member of
    11  the National Senior Games Association, the National Congress of
    12  State Games and a program participant of the United States


     1  Olympic Committee; and
     2     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Senior Games were first held in
     3  1980 as an event of the Keystone State Games; and
     4     WHEREAS, On July 14 through 17, 2005, nearly 2,000 of
     5  Pennsylvania's senior athletes 50 years of age or older are
     6  gathering at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg to compete
     7  in the 25th annual Pennsylvania Senior Games; therefore be it
     8     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
     9  month of July 2005 as "Pennsylvania Senior Games Month" in
    10  Pennsylvania in recognition and honor of the 25th anniversary of
    11  the Pennsylvania Senior Games.
