                                     AN ACT

     1  Designating SR 255 from SR 948, Fox Township, to the former St.
     2     Mary's Borough line in Elk County, as the William F. Renwick
     3     Memorial Highway.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6  Section 1.  William F. Renwick Memorial Highway.
     7     (a)  Findings.--William F. Renwick was a former member of the
     8  Pennsylvania House of Representatives who passed away February
     9  28, 1981, at the age of 65. He was a United States Marine Corps
    10  veteran of World War II, was first elected to the House of
    11  Representatives in 1954 and served for 24 consecutive years
    12  until 1978. He was a leader in sportsmen's and environmental
    13  issues, a member of the St. Mary's Sportsmen's Club and chairman
    14  of the Game and Fisheries Committee of the House of


     1  Representatives. He served as a member of St. Mary's Borough
     2  Council from 1945 to 1949, was an active member of the Knights
     3  of Columbus, the American Legion and the Benevolent and
     4  Protective Order of Elks. Mr. Renwick was highly respected and
     5  admired by his constituents and colleagues as an honest and
     6  dedicated politician who was committed to the well-being of his
     7  community and the citizens of this Commonwealth.
     8     (b)  Designation.--SR 255 from SR 948, Fox Township, to the
     9  former St. Mary's Borough line in Elk County is designated and
    10  shall be known as the William F. Renwick Memorial Highway.
    11     (c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
    12  maintain signs which shall display the name of the highway
    13  designated in subsection (b) at each end of the designated
    14  highway.
    15  Section 2.  Effective date.
    16     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
