AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Wistar Institute, Philadelphia,
2 for operation and maintenance expenses and for AIDS research.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $214,000 is hereby appropriated
6 to the Wistar Institute, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July
7 1, 2006, to June 30, 2007, for the operation and maintenance of
8 the institute.
9 (b) The sum of $92,000 is hereby appropriated to the Wistar
10 Institute-Research, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1,
11 2006, to June 30, 2007, for research on acquired immune
12 deficiency syndrome.
13 (c) Payment of the appropriations in this section shall be
14 made by the Secretary of Health in equal quarterly payments.
15 Section 2. The Wistar Institute shall provide full, complete
16 and accurate information as may be required by the Department of
17 Health or the chairman or the minority chairman of the
1 Appropriations Committee of the Senate or the chairman or the
2 minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the House
3 of Representatives.
4 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2006, or
5 immediately, whichever is later.
