        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON FINANCE, MARCH 7, 2006

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for income
     3     eligibility.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 8574 of Title 53 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 8574.  Income eligibility.
     9     A claimant shall be eligible for a tax deferral if the
    10  claimant and the claimant's spouse have a household income not
    11  exceeding the maximum household income [eligibility limitations
    12  set forth in the act of March 11, 1971 (P.L.104, No.3), known as
    13  the Senior Citizens Rebate and Assistance Act.] as established
    14  by the political subdivision.
    15     Section 2.  This act shall apply to claimants who apply for a
    16  tax deferral on or after the effective date of this act.
    17     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
