        AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON RULES, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
           AS AMENDED, NOVEMBER 7, 2005

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending REPEALING the act of July 7, 2005 (P.L.201, No.44),      <--
     2     entitled, "An act amending Titles 42 (Judiciary and Judicial
     3     Procedure), 46 (Legislature) and 71 (State Government) of the
     4     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for
     5     compensation; and making an inconsistent repeal," further      <--
     6     providing for applicability. REPEAL."                          <--

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 4 of the THE act of July 7, 2005           <--
    10  (P.L.201, No.44), entitled, "An act amending Titles 42
    11  (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure), 46 (Legislature) and 71
    12  (State Government) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes,
    13  providing for compensation; and making an inconsistent repeal,"
    14  is amended to read: REPEALED.                                     <--
    15     Section 4.  This act shall apply as follows:                   <--


     1         (1)  [Except for the application of 46 Pa.C.S. § 1107,
     2     the addition of 46 Pa.C.S. §§ 1101 through 1104 and 1106(a)]
     3     The addition of 46 Pa.C.S. Ch. 11 shall apply to members of
     4     the General Assembly elected after the effective date of this
     5     act.
     6         [(2)  The addition of 46 Pa.C.S. § 1107 shall apply to
     7     members of the General Assembly elected prior to the
     8     effective date of this act.]
     9         (3)  The addition of 71 Pa.C.S. §§ 1102(c) and 1105 shall
    10     apply to individuals who are appointed after December 31,
    11     2006.
    12         (4)  The addition of 71 Pa.C.S. §§ 1102(a) and (b) and
    13     1103 shall apply to individuals who are elected after the
    14     effective date of this act.
    15         (5)  For purposes of section 3(d) of the act of September
    16     30, 1983 (P.L.160, No.39), known as the Public Official
    17     Compensation Law, the salary of the Secretary of Community
    18     and Economic Development shall be deemed to be the salary on
    19     the day before the effective date of this act. This salary is
    20     subject to adjustment under section 3(e) of the Public
    21     Official Compensation Law.
    22     Section 2.  The amendment of section 2 of the act shall apply
    23  retroactively to July 7, 2005.
    24     Section 3 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.          <--
