AN ACT 1 Amending Title 24 (Education) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated 2 Statutes, defining "annuitant association"; and further 3 providing for administrative duties of board. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Section 8102 of Title 24 of the Pennsylvania 7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a definition to read: 8 § 8102. Definitions. 9 The following words and phrases when used in this part shall 10 have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the 11 meanings given to them in this section: 12 * * * 13 "Annuitant association." A voluntary membership organization 14 that is all of the following:
1 (1) Incorporated in this Commonwealth with a governing 2 body consisting exclusively of annuitants. 3 (2) Classified as a nonprofit organization under section 4 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (Public Law 5 99-514, 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)(4)). 6 (3) Supported with the self-payment of membership dues 7 in retirement by at least 25% of the annuitant members of the 8 system. 9 * * * 10 Section 2. Section 8502 of Title 24 is amended by adding a 11 subsection to read: 12 § 8502. Administrative duties of board. 13 * * * 14 (q) Information to annuitant associations.--An annuitant 15 association shall be entitled to annuitant data from the board 16 for the purposes of promoting memberships in the annuitant 17 associations and for analyzing legislative proposals that may 18 affect annuitants. In addition to all information available to 19 annuitant associations under the laws of this Commonwealth, 20 including the act of June 21, 1957 (P.L.390, No.212), referred 21 to as the Right-to-Know Law, the board shall, upon request, 22 provide to annuitant associations all of the following 23 information regarding annuitants: 24 (1) Home addresses. 25 (2) Employer prior to retirement. 26 Section 3.
